Bingo For Cerebral Palsy

Being the parent of a child with cerebral palsy can be tough, and it can sometimes be difficult to afford the things that would make their care easier. Mary Anne Richard realized this one afternoon when she watched her friend Cathy Caceres put her 6-year-old daughter in a van to take her home. Lifting the 65-pound girl from her wheelchair did not look easy, and would only get more difficult as the child grew.

As Richard considered the difficulties the single mother of three must experience every day, she decided to do something about it.

Richard organized a Bingo fundraiser, a night where participants can play for Pampered Chef prizes and buy raffles for gift baskets that local merchants donate to help Caceres’ daughter Maryn. All of the proceeds except the cost of some gift cards will go to help the little girl.

It is fortunate we have people like Mary Anne Richard around to remind us of how important it is to help those in need. Caceres will likely need a handicap van with a lift soon, and every bit of extra money she can get to go towards the purchase will help.
