Judge Beats Daughter With Cerebral Palsy

A Texas judge is fending off swarms of angry internet users over a video posted on YouTube of him beating his 16-year-old daughter, who suffers from cerebral palsy.

The video, recorded seven years ago, depicts William Adams and his wife doling out punishment on their daughter Hillary. Hillary had set up the camera secretly to record the abuse she was experiencing at the hands of her father.

In the video, Hillary is being reprimanded for illegally downloading video games and music on her computer. Adams demands that she bend over her bed so he can beat her with a belt. Hillary does not comply, so Adams begins hitting her repeatedly.

The video goes on for a full seven minutes, with Adams cursing the girl and hitting her. It recently went viral, with link-sharing site Reddit spreading it around the world, causing huge cries of outrage, with users encouraging people to call news organizations, government agencies and even the judge’s office.

The abusive nature of the video would be disturbing even if Hillary did not suffer from cerebral palsy. The fact that she is disabled makes it even worse, and it is no surprise that the public is so angry.

Are you surprised that a parent would take such violent action against a sufferer of cerebral palsy?
