Michigan Teen Carries Brother 40 Miles for Cerebral Palsy

Birth Injury Attorneys Applaud his Efforts to Raise Awareness Last month, a teenager trudged 40 miles across Michigan with his 7-year-old brother on his back. The younger boy has cerebral palsy, a degenerative disorder which prevents him from walking on his own. The teenager initially raised $350 selling green wristbands to promote Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month at his school. Inspired by a dream his mother had of him carrying his brother to Mackinac, the family’s vacation spot, he hatched the idea of the long distance walk to spread his message beyond the campus. This led to months of preparation for carrying his fifty pound brother on his back. “We want kids to understand,” he said.
