Brain Injury During Botched Birth Leads to Arizona Lawsuit

According to the Phoenix New Times, a woman is suing a healthcare provider saying her son was born with a skull fracture and permanent injuries due to negligence. The news source reports that the woman and her husband have filed a lawsuit in Arizona, arguing that doctors and nurses made numerous mistakes leading up to the birth of her child that have caused him lifelong disabilities. Her lawsuit indicates that the mother was young and petite, and was under the care of the same doctor throughout the course of her pregnancy. At 39 weeks, she claims the provider deemed her pregnancy non high-risk, although the doctor opted to induce labor.
