Do U.S. Hospitals Do Enough to Protect Mothers During Childbirth?

An investigation into U.S. birth injuries and complications has revealed that hospitals may not be doing enough to protect women during deliveries. According to a USA Today report that came out this summer, the U.S. is the most dangerous place in the developed world for a mother to give birth, as more than 50,000 mothers experience injuries and about 700 die during labor. The news outlet reported that about half of these deaths could have been reduced or prevented with better healthcare.
